Bling King LeBron James' Pendant

Little did Vaniesha Robinson know that the box of miscellaneous items she bought for $5 at a garage sale contained a LeBron James pendant valued at close to $10,000.  The pendant caught Vaniesha’s eye, a sparkley jersey with LeBron’s #23 on it.  For years she wore it to high school, loving the way it swiveled on the chain.  Recently, though, she started to take a closer look, and began to wonder if her King Bling was for real.  A local jewelry store took a look and told her the diamonds were real, so Robinson sent the pendant to the Gemnological Institute of America for an appraisal.  The verdict?  The G.I.A. appraised the pendant at nearly $10,000.  Talk about a garage sale score!

Robinson has posted the LeBron James Pendant on eBay, hoping for a bid.  She is an amateur boxer, and the sale of the pendant could be her big break, as she would use the money to start her own boxing gym.

Chinese Gold Rush

Spurned by a fear of a property bubble bursting, many people in China have been rushing to buy gold lately, according to a CCTV news report..  Gold sales during the May holiday were up 70% this year over last year.  Similarly, sales of gold bars have doubled.

China is not only big on buying gold, for the last 3 years China has been the world’s largest gold producer.  For the first time ever they produced over 300 tons of gold in 2009.

Gold Dispensing ATM in Abu Dhabi

A gold dispensing ATM has been installed in the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi.  The machine itself is plated in 24 karat gold and will dispense gold bars up to 10 grams in exchange for cash.  The gold bars are engraved with the Emirates Palace logo- Kruggerands, Maple Leaf and Kangaroo designs are also available.

The ATM is called “Gold to Go”.

They’re calling it the iPad Supreme and not without undo reason.  UK luxury designer Stuart Hughes had created 3 iPads that feature a solid 22 karat gold casing and diamond studded Apple logo- a total of 53 perfect diamonds make that apple dazzle.  The newest 3G iPad was utilized for this luxury treatment and the price tag is a mere $190,000. (!)
